The Uruguayan player feels the jersey, the rivalry, the need to win. 우루과이 선수들은 유니폼을 의식하며 즐길 줄 알고 승리를 원하죠. That's the mentality of the Uruguayan. 그게 우루과이인의 사고방식입니다.
They instil that in you as a child, that you must win. 어릴 때부터 그런 걸 물려 주죠 이겨야 한다는 생각을요. We don't see ourselves any other way than playing in the final. 결승 진출 외에는 생각해 본 적이 없어요. Uruguay is the classic, classic story 우루과이의 경우는 세계적으로 사랑받는 고전적인 이야기죠.
that everyone in the world loves. 세계적으로 사랑받는 고전적인 이야기죠.
Which is a story of David slaying Goliath. 골리앗을 죽인 다윗 이야기 말입니다.
It's a story of universal appeal. 이건 보편적인 매력을 지닌 이야기예요.
I guess we all carry a little David within us, 우리는 모두 내면에 작은 다윗이 있다고 생각합니다.

This is the contradiction of Italian soccer. 이게 바로 이탈리아 축구의 모순입니다.
Great criticism, great victories. 비판과 승리가 함께 하죠.
Italy is a country that we 이탈리아라고 하면 보통
typically associate with extraordinary artistic beauty. 굉장한 예술의 나라로 알려져 있죠.
The paintings, the sculptures, the spectacular buildings, the cities...

But there is another facet to Italy, too, 하지만 이탈리아는
which is efficiency. 효율성을 중시하는 면도 있습니다.
Which, of course, is part of the business of making these great paintings

물론 미술 작품과 도시를 만드는 데에도 효율성이 필요하죠.
and great cities. There is an attention to detail. 섬세하게 표현해야 하니까요.
But there's also the element in Italy of Machiavelli. 하지만 이탈리아는 마키아벨리적인 면도 있습니다.
And when I mention Machiavelli, I do not mean to do so in a pejorative, moralistic sense

마키아벨리적이라고 해서 도덕적으로 나쁘다는 건 아닙니다.
but Machiavelli was the king of efficiency, 단지 마키아벨리는 효율성의 대가였죠.
the king of pragmatism. 실용주의의 대가이기도 했습니다.

There was a tragedy. The game against Korea was truly an Italian tragedy.

Brazilian soccer got started 브라질 축구는 through the creation of sport clubs by sons of wealthy families from the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, 부유한 집안의 자제들이 만든 클럽의 조직화를 통해 시작됐습니다. 리우데자네이루와 상파울루에서요.

We must play against Korea. Now we arrive at quarterfinals. 한국과 맞붙었는데 당연히 한국을 꺾고 준결승전에 올라간다고 생각했어요. Finally we will play in the semifinals. 당연히 한국을 꺾고 준결승전에 올라간다고 생각했어요. An offside called on Joaquín, an Egyptian referee... 호아퀸에게 이집트 심판이 오프사이드를 선언합니다. that calls whatever he feels like. 휘슬을 마음대로 불었죠.

We tossed the coin and got tails in their World Cup. 동전을 던졌는데 뒷면이 나왔던 거죠.

COME ON, SPAIN! "우리가 최고!"
That feeling? I won't have that feeling again in my life. 생전 그런 느낌은 처음이었어요.
 The period from 2010 to 2012 is a football period of great success 2010부터 12년까지는 아주 좋았습니다.
because we win the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Cup, 2010년에 월드컵에서 12년에 유로에서 우승했으니까요.

2023 국제축구연맹(FIFA) 20세 이하(U20) 월드컵에 참가한 우리 대표팀이 최소 3위 자리를 확보했다. 조별예선 최종전 상대인 감비아에 패하지만 않으면 2위 이상이 돼 자력으로 16강에 진출한다. 패할 경우 프랑스와 온두라스 경기 결과에 따라 경우의 수를 따져봐야 한다. U20 대표팀 김은중 감독이 이끄는 우리 대표팀은 1차전에서 프랑스를 2-1로 꺾고 2차전에서 온두라스와 2-2로 비겼다. 1승 1 무 승점 4점을 확보한 한국은 2연승을 기록해 승점 6점을 챙긴 감비아에 이어 2위에 올랐다. 온두라스는 1무 1패(승점 1)로 3위, 2연패 중인 프랑스가 최하위다. 이번 대회는 총 24개국이 출전해 4개국씩 6개 조로 편성됐다. 각조의 1·2위는 16강에 직행한다. 각 조 3위 가운데 승점·골득실·다득점 등을 따져 상위 4개국이 16강에 합류한다. 한국은 조별리그 통과를 확정하진 못한 상태지만 현재로선 16강에 오를 가능성이 높다.

12. 월드컵, 챔피언을 향한 여정 다큐멘터리 시리즈 영화를 본 소감 

축구사랑은 대단하다고 생각했습니다.  한국도 그렇지만 많은 나라 사람들이 축구와 사랑에 빠져 있다는 것을 알게 되고 영화를 보는 내내 즐거웠습니다.  한국축구에 대해서 언급하는 부분에는 더 많은 관심이 갔습니다.  언젠가 한국도 월드컵에서 우승할 날이 왔으면 좋겠다고 생각했습니다. 그럴 수 있다고 확신합니다. 한국이 축구에 대한 사랑은 다른 나라에 절대로 뒤지지 않으니까요.
